1793 S-6 R3 F12 |
$3,750.00 | ||
Sharpness VF25, but dark with very fine granularity covering the obverse, moderate granularity covering the reverse. No verdigris, but there are some dull scratches in the field before the portrait, a tiny punch mark in the hair left of the ear and a few small rim bruises on each side, the notable ones under the 7 and just left of the fraction. Slightly glossy dark olive and steel, the obverse with more gloss than the reverse, which is closer to matte. E-MDS, Breen State II. |

.1793 S-8 R3 VG10 |
$3,500.00 | ||
Slightly sharper with a light rim bruise left of the fraction and a smaller one over the A in STATES, plus some dull faint scratches in the obverse fields. Both sides were lightly burnished for some unknown reason since the planchet is free of any hint of roughness. The date is strong and the legends are clear. LDS, Breen state III. Decent eye appeal in spite of the minor defects. |
