Glossy medium brown and chocolate with reddish chocolate brown toning covering the protected areas of the reverse. The surfaces are smooth, but there is a small pit mark in the dentils left of the cap and a slightly larger one in the dentils over ES in STATES.. This second pit mark is surrounded by a very light dusting of fine greenish verdigris. Just a few minor contact marks, including a small rim nick left of the top of the cap and a short hairline scratch from the dentils to the left side of the D in UNITED. Nicely struck except for HALF CENT, which is weak as usual but still readable. MDS, Manley state 2.0 early. Weight 89.4 gns. Ex. Jim McGuigan, Bowers & Merena 6/20/84:3288-Tony Terranova-Joel S. Choice medium brown with smooth problem free surfaces. This planchet was cut from the end of a strip with a resulting straight clip K10 obverse/ K8 reverse as struck. The clip does not affect any of the design. An interesting and attractive Little Half Sister. |

Sharpness at least EF40 but the obverse is covered with tiny planchet flakes, as struck. The reverse is choice except for a small fissure at the rim over ST, also as struck, and grades EF45. The only contact mark is a faint hairline scratch hidden among the flakes in the field before the eyebrow. Glossy medium brown. MDS. Manley state 2.0 early. The reverse is rotated 5 degrees CCW.
